MÉS INFORMACIÓ
This job position belongs to the Study Group on Metabolic Diseases Associated with Insulin Resistance (GEMMAIR) at Pere Virgili Institute for Health Research (IISPV). This is a clinical and basic research group composed of a multidisciplinary team. This team includes medical and experimental research staff from the Joan XXIII University Hospital of Tarragona and the Sant Joan University Hospital of Reus: internists, surgeons, pathologists, molecular biologists, and laboratory technicians. GEMMAIR has more than 15 years in the study of obesity and associated comorbidities. Additionally, GEMMAIR has been accredited as a consolidated group by the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) since 2009 and is recognized as a research group by the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). The IISPV is an institution that integrates research in the field of biomedicine in the “Camp de Tarragona” and the “Terres de l’Ebre”, in order to manage biomedical research and innovation in the territory.
The job position is linked to the international research project: An open, multicentre, prospective, non-interventional study of the CE-marked medical device GlucoTab, according to intended use without additional invasive and stressful measures with a matched retrospective control group (DigiDiab pilot: impact study hospital). This project, Digital Diabetes Assistant, has received co-funding from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Health and the European Union under Grant Agreement 230206.
This project describes a Digital Diabetes Assistant (GlucoTab) which guides and supports diabetes management. Unlike most other “diabetes apps” and projects, it focuses on supporting healthcare professionals (HCP) and provides insulin dosing advice, driven by validated algorithms and digital processes, allowing for treatment adjustment in seconds instead of days. We aim to develop further, implement, and evaluate the digital diabetes assistant GlucoTab for best-practice care delivery with digitised patient-centred diabetes care in hospitals, domiciliary nursing care and nursing homes in different European pilot regions.
