Data Manager for DigiDiab pilot: impact study hospital

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The chosen person will have to carry out, mainly, these tasks:

This job position belongs to the Study Group on Metabolic Diseases Associated with Insulin Resistance (GEMMAIR) at Pere Virgili Institute for Health Research (IISPV). This is a clinical and basic research group composed of a multidisciplinary team. This team includes medical and experimental research staff from the Joan XXIII University Hospital of Tarragona and the Sant Joan University Hospital of Reus: internists, surgeons, pathologists, molecular biologists, and laboratory technicians. GEMMAIR has more than 15 years in the study of obesity and associated comorbidities. Additionally, GEMMAIR has been accredited as a consolidated group by the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) since 2009 and is recognized as a research group by the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). The IISPV is an institution that integrates research in the field of biomedicine in the “Camp de Tarragona” and the “Terres de l’Ebre”, in order to manage biomedical research and innovation in the territory.

The job position is linked to the internacional research project: An open, multicentre, prospective, non-interventional study of the CE-marked medical device GlucoTab, according to intended use without additional invasive and stressful measures with a matched retrospective control group (DigiDiab pilot: impact study hospital). This project, Digital Diabetes Assistant, has received co-funding from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Health and the European Union under Grant Agreement 230206.

 

 

This project describes a Digital Diabetes Assistant (GlucoTab) which guides and supports diabetes management. Unlike most other “diabetes apps” and projects, it focuses on supporting healthcare professionals (HCP) and provides insulin dosing advice, driven by validated algorithms and digital processes, allowing for treatment adjustment in seconds instead of days. We aim to develop further, implement, and evaluate the digital diabetes assistant GlucoTab for best-practice care delivery with digitised patient-centred diabetes care in hospitals, domiciliary nursing care and nursing homes in different European pilot regions.

The chosen person will have to carry out, mainly, these tasks:

 

  • Clinical Trial Management
  • Database Management
  • Patient Data Collection
  • Data Linking in Software Applications
  • Document Maintenance for all Clinical Trials
  • Preparation and Assistance in Monitoring Visits
  • Systematic Review of Databases
  • Creation of Statistical Syntax Based on Aggregated Data for Real-Time Analysis

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Telecommunications or similar.
  • Competence and experience as data manager.
  • Knowledge of office automation (Microsoft Office) and other databases.
  • Teamwork skills, ability to work independently, organisation, friendliness, dynamism, versatility, rigour, responsibility and confidentiality.

  • Good Clinical Practice Certificate, ICH Good Clinical practice E6 (R2).
  • Domain of statistics.

  • Interest and care for the language, and neatness in linguistic correctness.
  • Previous experience in similar projects.
  • Advanced mastery of the internet and knowledge of new trends in Artificial Intelligence
  • Ability to identify and solve problems and challenges.

 

SELECTION PROCEDURE

  • Selection of CVs: Suitable and unsuitable CVs will be identified according to the requirements. Applicants who do not meet the requirements indicated in the point profile of the person and requirements will not move on to the next phase.
  • CV assessment Assessment of CVs up to a maximum score of 50 points.
  • Written letter of motivation: Attach to the CV a letter of motivation with a maximum length of 2500 characters with spaces. With a maximum score of 20 points.

To access the interview phase, it is necessary to have obtained a minimum score of 30 points in the sum of the scores of the assessment of the CV and motivation letter.

Condicions laborals

  • Type of working day: partial-time (25 h/week)
  • Physical place of work: HUJ23 of Tarragona / Teleworking according to IISPV policies.
  • Contract: Indefinite of scientific-technical activities linked to the DigiDiab pilot project, co-funded from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Health and the European Union under Grant Agreement 230206 (approximation 9 months)
  • Remuneration: 21.000 € – 22.000 € gross per year
  • Approximate incorporation: April of 2025
