DIBIOMEC, a leading research group in biomarkers for cancer and inflammatory diseases, is seeking candidates to apply for a Juan de la Cierva 2026 Research Contract. This position is aimed at highly motivated and talented researchers eager to contribute to cutting-edge translational research in prostate cancer.
About the Juan de la Cierva Program
The Juan de la Cierva program supports the professional development of researchers with strong scientific training, helping them consolidate their research careers in collaboration with top research teams across Spain. The 2026 position will be hosted within the DIBIOMEC Group, where the selected researcher will play a key role in projects focused on prostate cancer biomarkers.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
• Ph.D. in Biology, Biomedicine, Molecular Biology, or equivalent research experience.
• Background in extracellular vesicle (EV) isolation/characterization, molecular profiling (proteomics, small RNA, cfRNA), and in vitro biomarker validation.
• Hands-on experience with EV techniques (ultracentrifugation, size-exclusion chromatography, or commercial kits), nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), TEM/SEM, western blotting, and targeted assays (ddPCR, qPCR, targeted proteomics).
• Bioinformatics expertise (RNA/proteomics analysis pipelines) and experience applying statistical and machine learning methods to multi-omic data.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Spanish proficiency is desirable.
• Proven ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals and to work within national and international collaborations.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct innovative research on translational cancer biomarkers in prostate cancer, and contribute to other active projects (e.g., kidney cancer).
• Publish and disseminate research findings in high-impact journals.
