The Cell Culture Platform of the Pere Virgili Health Research Institute (IISPV) is a key resource for biomedical and health science research. Designed to facilitate experimental work with cell cultures, our platform offers a cutting-edge environment that guarantees the highest standards of quality, reproducibility and safety in scientific experiments.
Our aim is to provide researchers with the tools, knowledge and technical support necessary to develop innovative projects that contribute to the advancement of areas such as cell biology, pharmacology, immunology and personalized medicine.
With a focus on excellence and innovation, the platform is open to both IISPV researchers and external collaborators, including academic centers, hospitals and companies in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.
The Cell Culture Platform offers its services in self-user mode, researchers have access to the platform’s facilities and equipment to carry out their experiments autonomously, respecting the established rules of use and biosecurity. This modality is designed for researchers with experience in cell cultures who can work without direct supervision.
The Platform will coordinate the maintenance and decontamination tasks of the facilities and equipment.
The Platform is structured in two nodes:

It has two independent laboratories:
Primary crops laboratory: Modules located in front of CAP Tarraco
Line crops laboratory: 3rd floor of the Research and Teaching

The Statistical Support Platform is a cross-cutting platform for statistical support to researchers that offers a support and advice service in all phases of the development of a research project: methodology, design, analysis and publication.
The Clinical Pharmacy Department is a central clinical support service with its own activities and support for the other healthcare services of the ICS Camp de Tarragona.
