University Rovira i Virgili (URV) is a quality university, with a wide range of studies and an excellent connection to the socio-economic environment and its services. It’s very well positioned in the main national and international rankings.
The URV accompanies students throughout their lives academic and encourages their dedication to practical activities. Each year, about 2,000 students do internships in companies and institutions. This favors their employment, which is more than 70 percent three months after completing their studies.
The URV’s main objective is to provide the territory in which it is based with a structure of knowledge with international prestige, which contributes to advancing towards a more just and free society through education, research, culture and progress. It has five campuses between Tarragona, Reus, Tortosa and Vila-seca, and is based in El Vendrell. In them are located nine faculties, three higher technical schools and three affiliated centers.
Its human team includes 1,000 professors, 300 researchers and 730 people dedicated to management. It trains 15,000 students in all areas of knowledge and a five-axis model: innovation, transversality, internationalization, employability and social commitment.
The relevance that the University attaches to research and innovation makes it play a key role in regional development. The URV has an academically solid, scientifically relevant and substantial dimension in knowledge transfer.

Doctoral studies are organized into doctoral programs, adapted to the European Higher Education Area. They are aimed at acquiring skills and abilities, and culminate in the elaboration and defense of the doctoral thesis, original research work in any field of knowledge.
