Opening position for a 2-year post-doc contract associated with the project INVESTIGO 2023 (reference 2023POST-INV-14). The candidates will join the “NUTRIGENOMICS” research group at the Biochemical and Biotechnology Department of the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona (URV).

The research group in Nutrigenomics has as its general objective the generation of knowledge oriented towards the design of functional foods capable of preventing, delaying, or alleviating metabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and metabolic syndrome.
The main lines of research that we are currently pursuing are:
• Search for bioactive dietary compounds with beneficial effects against pathologies related to metabolic syndrome, obesity, diabetes mellitus and hypertension.
• Development of a functional multi-ingredient mix capable of simultaneously treating different disorders.
• Generation and purification of bioactive peptides from different protein sources such as food products.
• Evaluation of the impact of biological rhythms on the effectiveness of bioactive compounds.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate fulfilling these requirements at the time of initiating the contract are:
a) Have the title of doctor
b) Be under 30 years of age.
c) Not have developed any type of research activity at the URV within the 6 months immediately prior to the start of the contract.
Having accreditation and/or experience in the use of experimental animals will be positively considered.
Deadline: 6 June 2023. The contract will start no later than 1 September 2023.
