Descripción del trabajo

Professor Francesc Vidal Marsal, Head of the Infection and Immunity Research Group (INIM) at the Pere Virgili Health Research Institute (Tarragona, Spain), is interested in receiving Expressions of Interest of potential candidates for the Marie Sklodowska – Curie Individual Fellowship (MSCA – IF) 2020 call.

Prof. Vidal’s research group is focused on searching biomarkers and mechanistic pathways involved in the modulation of immunological response to HIV infection using -omic technologies, which should open new horizons for the development of novel treatments. Professor Francesc Vidal Marsal (h index 30) is a clinical researcher with demonstrated experience in the study of HIV infection, a complex and multifactorial phenomenon affecting normal immune function. Dr. Rull joined the group after finishing her Sara Borrell postdoctoral fellowship at the Cardiovascular Biochemistry Group (IIB-Sant Pau, Barcelona) to lead the study
of non-AIDS comorbidities related to worse disease progression. INIM is a dynamic group, constituted by a strong nucleus of investigators with joint activity and constant changes in the composition due to its training capability. INIM is an established national reference site for AIDS and aims at becoming an international reference regarding the use of -omic science in HIV/AIDS field.

Condiciones laborales

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with proven experience in microbiota studies having seminal contributions that have impacted the biomedical research community to add new insight in our effort for understanding HIV immunopathogenesis from translational basic research to the usual clinical practice.

INIM offers the opportunity to work in a biological molecular laboratory to unrevealed new biomarker in the search for a HIV functional therapeutic cure using omics technologies, among others. The impact of the results is expected to be high due to the clinical importance. The selected candidate will be based at the University Hospital Joan XXIII in Tarragona, which is full
equipped with the technical and scientific facilities for carry out this project. In addition, the candidate will be supported by the IISPV for the writing of the MSCA-IF application and have access to our postgraduate training schemes.
