Topic: Bioinformatics.

Destination: SIB created the Bioinformatics Awards in 2008 to acknowledge early career bioinformaticians and ground-breaking resources of national and international standing. The international awards honour excellence in bioinformatics and computational biology within three categories:

  • PhD Paper Award: recognizes outstanding papers published by a PhD student in the area of bioinformatics and/or computational biology.
  • Early Career Award: recognizes international early careers who demonstrate excellence through one or several projects and/or papers in bioinformatics and/or computational biology.
  • Innovative Resource Award: recognizes newly developed bioinformatics resources with an important impact on life science research or the clear potential to make such an impact.

Budget:

  • PhD Paper Award: 5,000 CHF.
  • Early Career Award: 10,000 CHF.
  • Innovative Resource Award: 10,000 CHF.
