About fifty people attended the micro-talks to disseminate science to the public ‘Research for Change’, which took place last Thursday 26 September at the firaReusEvents. These talks were given by researchers from the Pere Virgili Health Research Institute (organiser of the initiative), Rovira i Virgili University (URV) and other research centres in the Tarragona area (the Catalan Institute of Chemical Research (ICIQ) and the Catalan Institute of Human Palaeoecology and Social Evolution -IPHES-).

This event was organised in collaboration with Reus City Council (through the Department of Economic Promotion, Innovation and Knowledge and REDESSA) and forms part of the European Research Night programme. The ‘Nit’ is an informative event that the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) has been promoting in the Tarragona area for the last seven years, with the main objective of bringing science closer to the public. The main activity is the science workshop fair, which took place on 27 and 28 September, for family audiences who filled the Plaça Corsini with around 5,000 participants, who were able to enjoy around fifty proposals and workshops in all scientific disciplines.

The micro-talks were sponsored by Grup Unió, Mercats de Reus, Casa Amella, Forn Sistaré and Esclat de Reus, which provided an assortment of organic and local foods.
