All the profits from the concert dedicated to the &#8216;Generaci\u00f3n Movida&#8217; will go to breast cancer research at the Pere Virgili Health Research Institute, which this year will launch a pre-doctoral grant thanks to the support obtained through Mamapop. The show will take a tour of great pop-rock songs from the eighties and nineties with versions of Alaska y Dinarama, Loquillo y Trogloditas, Hombres G, La Guardia, Duncan Dhu, Los Secretos, Mecano, Tino Casal, Sau, Sopa de Cabra or Els Pets. Mamapop \u2018Generaci\u00f3n Movida\u2019 will feature a dozen solo singers and will put on stage forty musicians fusing the pop-rock base of MamaBanda with the strings (violins and cellos) of the Ponent Youth Orchestra. Paula Costas, Nerea Garc\u00eda, Laura Roure, Anna Simon, Xenia P\u00e9rez, David Honrrubia, Toni Gilabert, Pol Simon and Nom\u00eds Lenam and the young Balaguer promise Maria Fern\u00e1ndez will lend voice to the repertoire. All under the musical direction of Josep Mar\u00eda Bossa, pianist, guitarist, composer and producer of the Bossa Records label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mamapop maintains its collaboration link with the Pere Virgili Health Research Institute (IISPV) and the profits derived from the concert will be entirely destined to this entity for breast cancer research. In fact, this 2024 the IISPV will launch a predoctoral scholarship thanks to the support obtained through the Mamapop held in Tarragona. In its first edition in Tarragona, nearly 1,100 people were gathered, practically 100% of the occupancy of the Palau Firal and Congress of Tarragona, and profits of \u20ac23,699 were achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The director of the Pere Virgili Health Research Institute, Dr. Joan Vendrell, appeared today at the press conference to present the concert (in the Tarragona City Hall): &#8220;The participation of society is key to continue advancing in the fight against breast cancer. Initiatives such as Mamapop, with the support of the IISPV, are very important to have more resources to continue researching and alleviate the suffering of women and the family environment. With this new concert in Tarragona, everyone is invited to join the cause and contribute to research that can save lives.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The promoter and artistic director of Mamapop, Manel Simon, has highlighted that \u201cwe are returning to Tarragona with more desire than ever to contribute to the financing of breast cancer research and we are grateful for the support of the public, entities and companies with the good news of the creation of a grant that transforms this support into research.\u201d \u201cWith \u2018Mamapop \u2013 Generaci\u00f3n Movida\u2019 we want to repeat the success of the first edition in Tarragona, which welcomed us in an unbeatable way,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tarragona City Council once again offers its support to the initiative and the mayor of Tarragona, Rub\u00e9n Vi\u00f1uales, has encouraged all citizens to \u201cenjoy this great show and join the fight against breast cancer.\u201d Vi\u00f1uales has thanked Mamapop and the IISPV \u201cfor their tireless work to raise awareness and mobilize citizens against breast cancer.\u201d \u201cYour fight is the fight of all of us, it is essential to continue researching and investing to improve the quality of life of people who suffer from this tough disease.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mamapop Tarragona will once again have the support of companies and entities such as Fundaci\u00f3n Repsol, Factor Energia or Port de Tarragona this year. Others such as Club B\u00e0squet Tarragona are also joining them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mamapop charity show will premiere at the Palau Firal i de Congresos in Tarragona on November 16, 2024 at 9 p.m. More than a thousand tickets are on sale, which can now be purchased at www.mamapop.cat<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a novelty, this year a physical ticket sales point has also been set up at FarmaTarraco (C\/ de Pere Martell, 5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Mamapop<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mamapop charity concert was born in Lleida in November 2014 with the aim of obtaining funding for scientific research into breast cancer. In Lleida, Mamapop allocates its profits to the Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida, becoming the first source of private funding for IRBLleida for breast cancer research with \u20ac192,000. In the Tarragona region, it collaborates with the Pere Virgili Health Research Institute (IISPV) along the same lines and to date the contribution has been \u20ac23,699. Various companies and individuals have actively collaborated with Mamapop since its launch.
