What is the Institut d'Investigació Sanitària Pere Virgili?

The Institut d'Investigació Sanitària Pere Virgili (IISPV) was created within a framework of an agreement between an interinstitutional scientific collaboration of these organisations: the Institut Català de la Salut (Hospital Universitari de Tarragona Joan XXIII, Hospital de Tortosa Verge de la Cinta, Àrea d’Atenció Primària del Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l’Ebre), the Grup SAGESSA (Hospital Universitari Sant Joan de Reus, Àrea d’Atenció Primària de SAGESSA), the Grup Pere Mata (Hospital Psiquiàtric Universitari Institut Pere Mata) and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.

These organisations and the Institute itself, provide research personnel, groups and research infrastructure and have asked the IISPV to develop and manage research activity in the field of health and biomedics, aimed at seeking synergies that will promote collaborations and conduct quality biomedical research.
